Summary Very reliable make, GemTrue.  This is the latest model following on from their Diamond Plus.  Automatic display, no need to adjust the sensitivity according to the size of the stone and the temperature, three lights: Diamond (= diamond or Moissanite*) or Other (= not diamond), or Metal (= you've  missed the stones and have touched the setting by accident).  To see an article all about diamond testing click here.  Technical DISPLAY Three lights, diamond, other or metal (see SUMMARY). PHYSICAL Dimensions: 6¼"X1½"X¾" 155X38X20mm Weight: 80g Tip: can test stones down to 0.03ct (3pt) in size, smaller if you have good eyesight and a steady hand. Operating temperature: recommended between 5 and 38 degrees C (41 to 100 degrees F).  POWER Power: one PP3 battery (supplied) Warm-up time when switched on: about 20 seconds Response time (to give a reading) about 1 second Warm-up time between tests about 1 second. ACCESSORIES / PRESENTATION Small, neat carrying case with stone holder slotted into a side pouch. Battery included. GUARANTEE 1 year. Limitations This is a diamond-only tester, it will not test Moissanite, that means Moissanite will register 'diamond' (for other models see the ALTERNATIVES tab).  A UV light serves no purpose when testing diamonds v. non-diamonds (though it does help with testing diamond v. Moissanite in the multi-testers).  Alternatives The Diamond Experior is to distinguish diamond from non-diamond (simulant/imitation).  It will not distinguish natural (mined) diamond from synthetic (lab-grown) diamond - that requires a very specialist tester (£700.00 to £1000.00) see ARI, ARETE and APEX.
